The Quality Assurance (QA) Manager, reporting to the Director Project Management Office (PMO), will lead a team of Quality Assurance Specialists, oversee all QA Activities and implement QA standards and methodologies. The QA Manager will ensure that new and existing systems and features and applications meet quality and performance expectations, and they will also develop standards and best practices for automated testing, performance testing and regression testing, including by improving the efficiency of testing processes. The QA Manager will also maintain and report on QA metrics.
Leading a team of QA specialists working in a multi-disciplinary environment (Waterfall, Agile), leveraging disparate technologies within disparate environments (managed hosted, cloud, vendor services).
Overseeing all QA activities and processes to ensuring that quality expectations have been met and conform to project and regulatory requirements.
Creating, documenting and implementing corporate QA standards, methodologies and processes.
Maintaining QA metrics, reporting QA metrics to senior management and using QA metrics to continuously improve product quality, testing efficiency and QA processes.
Reviewing test plans and test results for accuracy and completeness, and providing any related recommendations.
Creating training and development plans to grow the team in both technical and soft skills. .
Developing best practices for automated testing, performance testing and regression testing, and writing test scripts.
Making implementation recommendations based on test results.
Solving problems pertaining to testing and test staging.
Monitoring and tracking products defects, analyzing defect reports and making recommendations to reduce product defects.
Creating and executing test plans on assigned projects.
Skills / Abilities:
3+ years of demonstrated experience as a QA Manager
Bachelors degree in Business, Management, or related field. Experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Strong leadership and decision-making skills
Strong verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently while preserving accuracy and attention to detail
Energetic self-starter, with the ability to work independently
Knowledge of Agile and experience working in an Agile environment preferred
Knowledge of and experience with SmartBear TestComplete and SoapUI/ReadyAPI preferred
Knowledge of and experience with Postman, WireMock, LINQPad preferred
Experience with testing micro services in a Kubernetes environment preferred
Experience with testing Cloud-based services and applications preferred
Experience with a both formal SDLC environment, as well as an Agile environment .
Application/technology in several areas including Web Technology, Oracle, SQL, batch processing, Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow
Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cucumber.
ISTQB, QAI certifications preferred.
